Student Senate Vice Speaker

Jessa Cameron, Senate Vice Speaker

Hometown: West Hills, CA

Major: Political Science and Sociology, C/O 2016

How did you get involved with ASUW?
I got involved in ASUW through RCSA, when I where I was the Alder Hall representative my freshman year, through that, I was encouraged to join Senate and I’ve been here ever since!

What does your job entail?
My job has two parts- I am the parliamentarian for the ASUW Student Senate and I represent Senate to the Board of Directors. Since the Board has to approve all Senate legislation before it can be enacted, I get to present official student opinion at the board table.

Favorite part of working for the ASUW?
My favorite thing about working for ASUW is getting to learn about all the issues students are facing and the administration is working on across campus. The ASUW has a hand in such a variety of areas of UW, so I love to hear about everything that is going on.

What career do you hope to pursue long term?
I want to work on political campaigns! I love talking about logos, watching debates, and general democracy, and campaigning is a pretty incredible combination.
