Noe Merfeld, Director of Internal Policy

Hometown: Vancouver, WA

Major: Law, Societies & Justice, C/O 2016

How did you get involved with ASUW?
I got involved in the Association by reaching out to friends who I knew that had been previously been involved in ASUW. I wanted to pursue broader and different leadership opportunities on campus, as well as wanted to apply my academic interests (Law, Societies and Justice) to activities outside of the classroom.

What does your job entail?
Guiding the board of directors through processes involving policy changes regarding Association governing documents, as well as serving as the chair of the judicial committee, the board liaison to the Student Senate, GPSS and Elections Administration Committee. I also work with our Administrative Assistants to ensure our records are current and accessible to the public.

Favorite part of working for the ASUW?
My favorite thing about working for ASUW is being surrounded by people who genuinely love their jobs. All of the volunteers and employees have a personality that fits their jobs so perfectly, all while holding similar values that align with our mission as ASUW. I love that everyone is so passionate about serving students and working with students to provide them with the opportunities and resources they need to get involved on campus.

What career do you hope to pursue long term?
After graduation I hope to work as a traveling consultant for my sorority during my gap year before applying to law school. My hope is to be a prosecuting attorney, potentially practicing criminal law.
